Project goal
The LACHMAT project aims to develop innovative and sustainable construction materials and technologies, enhancing the research capacity of participating institutions. The project fosters knowledge transfer to the construction sector and promotes STEM education in Latvia.
Expected results
LACHMAT will conduct a series of research activities aimed at advancing construction material technologies. The project will:

- Develop climate-resilient road surfaces to mitigate urban heat island effects
- Research and test asphalt additives to reduce material aging and enhance durability
- Design fiber-reinforced concrete solutions for repairing and strengthening damaged structures
- Conduct laboratory tests and improve methodologies for evaluating 3D-printed concrete sustainability
- Foster knowledge exchange between Latvian and Swiss researchers, promoting public interest in STEM fields, especially in rural areas and among young women
